Let Us Help

Change

Life is changing rapidly – more single person households, an ageing population, increased travel, a rise in mental health challenges, loneliness and the changing face of work. These are just a few things that may impact at different times on people’s lives. It is now more critical than ever that people have someone to turn to and to talk things through. Our goal is to be there for whatever the future may bring.

Keeping Well

Samaritans can help you to keep yourself safe. Please call us- we can be a trusted ear for your hopes and joys as well as your fears and sadness. You are not alone.

Identity

Belonging is a fundamental human need. We need an Iwi, a group, a collective, a congregation, a family, a whanau, a culture, a nationality. We need comfort in our sexuality, our gender but we know that identity is fluid and the old categories are constantly changing. We understand how this can be upsetting and bewildering. Call us-we are the place where you can find help to make sense of all this.

Living and dying

We don’t talk much about death in our daily lives. We all know it is there. Suicide is of utmost concern to the Samaritans and we don’t shy away from conversations about suicide.

Ageing

Samaritans know that as we enter our senior years there are often concerns that need to be put to rest- mistakes that you would like to put right, relationships that need to be healed, a life story you need to share, regrets and triumphs that need to be told, worries about being a burden, loss of status and respect. We are here to support you for the duration and help you achieve a peaceful heart.
